What’s happening to my baby?

By week 27 your baby might weigh as much as a kilogram, and they are now about 24cm from head to bottom, and 38cm with their legs included. They are about to enter their final stage of growth and development, and their chances of survival after a premature birth are getting better.

What’s happening to me?

With only three months until full term, it’s a good time to start planning the things you’ll need to have around the house for when your baby comes home. Although many of these come down to personal preference, some items should follow Australian safety guidelines, such as a car seat/capsule and their bassinet or cot.

The major developments of the next trimester are all about growth and weight gain. Because of this, you should consult with your specialists about modifying any work or activity that will be impacted. There are many types of pre-natal exercise you can continue like swimming, yoga and light cardio right up until your final week.
